The Death of The Heart by Elizabeth Bowen is a tragic story of young love and heartbreak as a teen orphan living in London during wartimes. The story contains diary-like elements, thus the cursive hand manipulated font was chosen to present the book title at a large scale. Traditional fonts were chosen for body copy allow legibility and embody the serious tone of the story. Decaying rose petals were arranged falling throughout the cover, to evoke the feelings of heartbreak and tragedy. This project allowed for skills in publication and layout to be explored.
